When children have been removed from their homes by state authority, our foster care system is in place to help them transition through this process. There are different levels of foster care. They are:
Family Foster Care
This option is designed for children, infant to age 21, who do not have extensive or ongoing emotional and/or behavioral issues. Sometimes these children are a sibling group of two, three or more who are different ages, many times including young children.
Treatment Foster Care
This system is in place to help children, males and females through the age of 21 with emotional and/or behavioral problems. It also includes placement of pregnant or mothering teenage girls into the best-nurturing environments.
TFCX Foster Parent Program
When children with severe emotional problems, severe behavioral problems or exceptional needs are placed in foster care, who might otherwise require institutionalization, our TFCX program is here to help. There are special training and requirements to become a TFCX parent.
Respite Care
Short-term relief for foster care, birth or adoptive families, from four hours to two weeks. Trained staff and licensed foster caregivers provide therapeutic hourly, day or overnight care in foster home, group home, child’s home, or community setting.
