Pathway Caring for Children believes that small homes, staffed by live-in house parents who are carefully trained give many children the experience of living with a family.

Treatment Modality for Population Served
We ascribe to the following principles:
- Consumer choice- client/caregiver needs to be involved in service planning
- Empowerment- focus on strengths to develop skills
- Non-coercion-and self-determination- engaging client/caregiver in the recovery process
- Protection of clients' rights
- Responsibility for managing one's own health
How Services Meet the Needs of the Population:
- Services are provided for the maximum reduction of physical or mental disability and restoration of the child and family to the best
possible functional level.
- We focus on the functioning of the individual in the nonnal, day-today environment, and we seek to empower children and families by
focusing on strengths to develop skills.
- Services are individualized and adapted to the needs of the child and family. These services include supervision, skill training,
behavioral interventions, etc.
- Children, caregivers, and birth or adoptive parents or relatives are involved as much as possible in planning services and specific
treatment.
- Pathway staff members respect the rights of children and families and utilize non-coercive interventions.
- We seek to find and connect children to supports in the community.
