Our Training Department plays a mission critical role. They offer:

  • Pre-service trainings – A series of 53 class hours that prepares all of our foster caregiver candidates to take the first step into the treatment care for abused, abandoned, and neglected children.
  • First Aid and CPR – Prepares and keeps our foster caregivers ready to meet the unexpected minor or major emergencies.
  • Continuing Training – Foster Caregivers receive a minimum of 30 hours annually in specifically required subject areas.
    • There are semi-annual Community Days in which all of our foster caregivers are invited to focus on topics that enrich their skills in caring for their children. The classes are presented by experts for these planned gatherings. In addition, it builds up the fact that "we are all in this together.
    • There are regular Cluster meetings in which small groups of foster caregivers meet on a regular basis to support one another as well as focus on topics unique to the children who are now a part of their family.
    • We provide on a regular basis special training events that present information to help you be an effective Foster Caregiver. These trainings are presented in an interactive and dynamic environment.
    • We provide a stipend to all licensed Foster Caregivers for up to 30 hours of eligible training classes in each certification year.
