Foster Parents:
The successful applicant for this position should have a heart for children from broken places and a desire to provide them with a safe, caring home.
Foster parents provide an important role in the life of a child. This position is full time and in your own home. Placements are variable; flexibility is a must.
Applicants will be required to pass a background check, home assessment and complete 43 hours of paid training provided by Pathway. This is achieved in 14 sessions; about a 3-4 month process.
Once licensing is achieved you will work with our Intake Coordinator to match you and your home with the needs of a child who is in custody of the county agency. Pathway staff including case workers, direct care mentors, and therapists will be a part of your team to provide the child/children the additional support needed.
Pay is Per Diem
Respite Foster Parents:
The successful applicant for this position should have a heart for children from broken places and a desire to provide them with a safe, caring home for a limited period of time, offering the full-time foster parent a chance to rest and refresh.
Respite parents provide an important role in the life of a child. You choose what schedule works for you and Pathway will place a foster child/children in your home for a weekend, week or more, depending on the circumstances and your availability.
Applicants will be required to pass a background check, home assessment and complete 43 hours of paid training provided by Pathway. This is achieved in 14 sessions; about a 3-4 month process.

Pathway staff including case workers, direct care mentors and therapists will be a part of your team to provide the child/children the additional support needed.

Pathway Caring for Children was founded in 1973 by Jim and Velma Bridges. Jim passed in 2009, but Velma remains here on staff at Pathway. Read on for Jim’s mission upon starting this agency. This is the foundation of what we do, and while they have evolved over the years we still seek to incorporate these seven values into our everyday work.
