Horses and Hope to be Resilient

Pathway has partnered with Whispering Grace Horses for the last 7 years. It is a place where Pathway children and teens find connection and unconditional acceptance, opening the door for emotional healing.

Jamie Frank, Pathway Case Manager, shared, “Timothy is a quiet young man who loves the outdoors. He has experienced many ups and downs in his young life. Timothy has been in foster care most of his life and was placed in two separate adoptive homes that failed due to his behaviors or unforeseen circumstances with one of the families. This caused feelings of disappointment and being unwanted. When he returned to a Pathway foster home he was more than eager to attend a group at Whispering Grace. I have seen how much Timothy likes helping at the stables and relates to the horses who always show affection. This past June, Bill, Whispering Grace’s founder gave Timothy the opportunity of a lifetime to go to a Dude Ranch in Wyoming.

It was Timothy’s first time flying on an airplane, and despite being nervous he loved flying! He got to ride horses through the mountains, learn how the ranch functions, and met so many wonderful people. He said his favorite part was the overnight horseback camping trip and all the good BBQ.”
